“Ashley! Wait, come back!” I yelled down the street, as Ellie drove her car away. I saw Ellie shoot a look at Zach before she left the venue for good, and it wasn’t pretty. Speaking of Zach, what was his deal? Turning around, I found that he had followed me out of the venue with the same smug little smirk on his face.
“What just happened?” I challenged, facing him. I didn’t want to be mad at Zach, I really didn’t. The first thing that popped into my mind was that he might have been hanging around at the venue, and heard all the commotion and was simply wondering what was going on. He didn’t mean to ruin that moment! Still, I had a twisting feeling at the bottom of my gut telling me he had another reason for barging in like that. I mean, why else would Ashley run out in tears?
